CHATTY-DO!

What are the softest sounds you can hear? Can you hear my breathing? What about the sounds of your footsteps? Can you walk very softly? Maybe on tippy tiptoe! Sometimes, when we're being quiet, we can hear soft sounds. Like a pages turning when we read a book or when the wind blows the leaves in the trees. How do they sound? Deep, high, short, delicate, do they rise and fall? Listening carefully for and using new words to describe specific kinds of sounds-- even the softest ones!-- helps grow your preschooler's audio perception and early language skills. These are skills are essential to your kiddo's reading and self-expression, so listen closely and chat about the softest sounds you hear today!
